PRIVACY POLICY

1. Introduction and Commitment to Privacy

Welcome to BudgetFlow (“BudgetFlow,” the “Application,” the “App,” or the “Service”).

BudgetFlow is a free, advertisement-supported personal budgeting and financial-record management application designed to help individuals record, organize, monitor, and understand their financial activities.

The Application provides tools for recording income and expenditure, monitoring budgets, tracking savings and loans, managing accounts and financial obligations, reviewing financial summaries, and generating reports.

We recognize that financial information is personal and often sensitive. We therefore designed BudgetFlow around the principle that users should retain control over their financial records.

BudgetFlow does not require users to create an online account or upload their financial records to a BudgetFlow-operated server. Financial records entered into the Application are stored locally on the user’s device and are managed by the user.

BudgetFlow does, however, display advertisements provided through Google AdMob. Google and its advertising technologies may collect and process certain device, usage, diagnostic, and advertising information independently of the financial records stored within BudgetFlow.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is stored or processed, how it is used, when information may be transmitted, how users can protect and delete their records, and the limitations of the Application’s privacy and security features.

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using BudgetFlow, you acknowledge that you have been provided with this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for specific data processing activities, such consent must be obtained separately.

2. Scope of This Privacy Policy

This Policy applies to the BudgetFlow Android application, its built-in features, and the handling of information associated with its operation.

It covers information entered and stored by users, locally generated financial information, settings and security preferences, locally created reports and backups, device permissions, advertising technologies, and communications voluntarily sent to the developer.

This Policy does not replace the privacy policies of Google, Android device manufacturers, advertising partners, cloud-storage providers, or other third-party applications and services.

When users interact with services operated by third parties, those services may apply their own privacy policies, terms, and data-handling practices.

3. Information Entered and Stored in BudgetFlow

BudgetFlow allows users to voluntarily create and maintain different categories of financial and application data.

3.1 Income and Expenditure Records

Users may enter income, expenses, transaction amounts, dates, times, categories, descriptions, merchant or payee information, payment methods, and associated notes.

Users may also distinguish personal and business-related transactions, record recurring transactions, and associate transactions with accounts or other financial categories.

These records are used to organize transaction histories, calculate financial summaries, display expenditure patterns, and prepare reports.

3.2 Salary and Payroll Information

Where users choose to use salary-management features, BudgetFlow may store gross income, net income, payroll deductions, loan check-offs, and related descriptions.

This information is used for personal financial tracking and reporting. BudgetFlow does not independently verify salary payments, payroll deductions, or employer records.

3.3 Savings and Financial Goals

Users may record savings contributions, withdrawals, savings goals, target amounts, and progress toward those goals.

These entries are financial records only. BudgetFlow does not receive, hold, invest, transfer, or safeguard actual savings funds.

3.4 Loans, Debts, and Financial Obligations

BudgetFlow may store details of loans received, loan repayments, outstanding balances, money lent to others, repayments received, and other financial obligations.

These records are entered or managed by users and are not automatically verified against lenders, banks, credit reference bureaus, or other financial institutions.

3.5 Accounts and Wallets

Users may create accounts or wallets representing cash, bank accounts, mobile-money accounts, or other financial arrangements.

Account names, opening balances, transfers, and related entries are stored for recordkeeping purposes.

These are representations of financial accounts within the Application. BudgetFlow does not, by itself, open bank accounts, access actual account balances, or execute financial transfers.

3.6 Budgets, Categories, and Preferences

The Application may store budget limits, category preferences, alert thresholds, preferred currency, financial-year settings, themes, notification preferences, saved transaction shortcuts, and other user-selected settings.

3.7 Receipts and Supporting Images

Where supported, users may associate transactions with receipt images or other documents selected through Android’s file or photo-selection interfaces.

The Application may store a local reference to the selected file rather than a separate copy of the original image.

Users remain responsible for retaining their original receipts and ensuring that the selected files remain accessible.

3.8 Security Preferences

Where App Lock is enabled, BudgetFlow may store settings associated with PIN authentication, biometric access, and privacy-related display preferences.

The PIN verification information is stored in a hashed form rather than as the original plaintext PIN. Hashing should not be interpreted as equivalent to encrypting the entire financial database.

Biometric authentication is handled through Android’s authentication facilities. BudgetFlow does not need to receive or store a user’s raw fingerprint or facial biometric template to request authentication.

4. Local Storage and Offline Operation

BudgetFlow is designed to operate primarily as a local, offline-first financial-record management application.

Financial records and related application settings are maintained in storage associated with the installed Application on the user’s Android device.

The Application uses local storage technologies to organize records and preferences and to make those records available when the user opens the Application.

BudgetFlow does not require a developer-operated cloud account for normal financial-record management.

The developer does not routinely receive copies of users’ income, expenses, loan records, savings records, transaction descriptions, or other financial entries through the ordinary operation of BudgetFlow.

An internet connection may nevertheless be used by third-party advertising services and by Android or other services outside the Application’s local financial-record functionality.

Users should also understand that device-level backup settings and their own export or sharing actions can cause locally stored information to be copied elsewhere.

5. No Mandatory User Registration

BudgetFlow does not require users to register a BudgetFlow account, create a username, submit an email address, or provide a telephone number to use its ordinary budgeting features.

Users are not required to disclose their real names to the developer to maintain their financial records.

Information voluntarily entered into financial descriptions, account names, transaction notes, or other fields remains under the user’s control.

Because BudgetFlow does not operate a user-account-based financial synchronization service, the developer generally cannot identify, access, retrieve, modify, or restore a particular user’s locally stored financial records.

6. How Financial Information Is Used

Information entered into BudgetFlow is processed locally to provide the functions requested by the user.

These functions include recording and categorizing transactions, calculating income and expenditure totals, displaying available balances, monitoring savings and debts, preparing budget comparisons, generating financial charts, scheduling local reminders, and producing financial reports.

The Application may also use stored preferences to determine the selected currency, theme, reporting period, notification settings, and display options.

Financial calculations depend on the records and settings supplied by the user. BudgetFlow does not independently confirm that entered information corresponds to actual financial activity.

The developer does not use locally stored financial transaction contents for advertising targeting and does not intentionally transmit those transaction contents to Google AdMob.

7. Google AdMob Advertising

7.1 Advertisement-Supported Application

BudgetFlow is provided free of charge and is supported by advertisements displayed through Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google.

Advertising helps support the continued availability, maintenance, and development of the Application.

Users are not required to purchase a subscription or pay an application-access fee to use the free version described in this Policy.

7.2 Information Processed by Google AdMob

Although BudgetFlow’s financial records remain locally stored, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or transmit certain information in connection with advertising.

Depending on the device, configuration, region, applicable law, and Google services involved, this may include:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and information used to estimate approximate location;
  • Android advertising identifiers, app-set identifiers, or other permitted device identifiers;
  • Information about interactions with the Application or advertisements;
  • Application launch and advertising activity;
  • Device characteristics and operating-system information;
  • Diagnostic, performance, error, and technical information; and
  • Information used for advertising measurement, fraud prevention, security, and compliance.

Such information may be transmitted to Google and processed under Google’s applicable policies.

BudgetFlow’s local financial records are not intentionally supplied to Google AdMob as advertising-targeting data. Nevertheless, Google’s advertising technologies have their own data-processing practices, which are separate from the storage of BudgetFlow’s financial records.

7.3 Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising

Advertisements may be personalized or non-personalized depending on the advertising configuration, applicable legal requirements, available consent, and Google’s advertising systems.

Personalized advertising may involve the use of permitted identifiers and information about advertising interests or interactions.

Non-personalized advertising may still involve limited processing of technical information for advertisement delivery, measurement, frequency control, fraud prevention, and security.

The absence of personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that Google processes no device or technical information.

7.4 Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices

Where applicable law requires consent for advertising-related processing, such consent must be obtained through an appropriate consent mechanism.

Depending on the implementation and the user’s location, advertising privacy choices may be provided through an in-app consent interface, Google’s advertising settings, or Android device settings.

Users may also manage relevant advertising preferences through Google’s My Ad Centre:

https://myadcenter.google.com

Google’s Privacy Policy is available at:

https://policies.google.com/privacy

Users should review Google’s policies to understand how Google collects, uses, retains, and shares advertising-related information.

7.5 Advertising Revenue

The developer may receive advertising revenue associated with advertisements displayed in BudgetFlow.

This does not mean that the developer receives or sells the user’s financial transaction records.

Advertising revenue may depend on advertisement impressions, interactions, geographic markets, and other factors determined by the advertising provider.

8. Information Sharing and Disclosure

BudgetFlow does not operate a system for routinely transmitting users’ financial records to the developer.

Financial records may nevertheless be disclosed or copied in the following circumstances.

User-directed exports and sharing: Users may generate reports, create backups, or deliberately share files using other applications or storage services.

Third-party advertising: Google AdMob may collect and process the technical and advertising information described in Section 7.

Android system services: The operating system, device manufacturer, or backup provider may process application information according to device settings and applicable platform rules.

Voluntary communications: If a user contacts the developer and includes personal information, screenshots, financial records, or attachments, the developer may receive the information voluntarily supplied.

Legal obligations: The developer may disclose information actually in its possession where disclosure is required by applicable law or a valid legal process.

The developer cannot ordinarily disclose financial records that it does not possess or control.

BudgetFlow does not intentionally sell, rent, or license users’ locally stored financial transaction records to data brokers or advertisers.

9. Device Permissions and Access

Certain features may require access to Android capabilities or permissions.

9.1 Internet Access

Internet connectivity may be used to request and display advertisements through Google AdMob.

The core local financial-record features are designed to remain usable without continuous internet connectivity.

9.2 Notifications

Where notification functionality is enabled and the relevant Android permission is granted, BudgetFlow may display reminders relating to budgets, bills, recurring transactions, or financial reviews.

Users can manage notification preferences within the Application and through Android’s notification settings.

Notification visibility may also depend on the device’s lock-screen settings. Users should review these settings if notification content could reveal sensitive financial information.

9.3 File and Document Access

BudgetFlow may use Android’s document-selection and file-saving interfaces to import backups, select supporting files, or export reports.

The Application’s access to user-selected files is governed by the permissions and access mechanisms provided by Android.

9.4 Biometric Authentication

Where supported, BudgetFlow may request authentication through Android’s biometric or device-credential systems.

Authentication availability depends on device hardware, operating-system support, user enrollment, and security configuration.

9.5 Permission Control

Users may review or revoke relevant permissions through Android Settings.

Disabling a permission may prevent the corresponding feature from functioning.

The Application should request only permissions reasonably necessary for its implemented functionality.

10. Data Retention

Financial records are generally retained locally for as long as the user keeps them in the Application.

BudgetFlow does not automatically delete historical financial records merely because a reporting month or financial year has ended.

Users determine how long they retain transaction histories, budgets, savings records, and related information, subject to the functionality available in the Application.

Deleting an individual record removes that record from the active application data according to the implemented deletion process. Other related entries, previously generated reports, exported copies, or backups may remain.

Third-party advertising providers may retain technical and advertising information according to their own retention policies and applicable legal obligations.

11. User-Controlled Data Deletion

Users are responsible for managing their locally stored financial records.

Where available, users may delete individual transactions, categories, financial entries, or other information using the Application’s management features.

Users may also remove local application data through Android’s application-storage settings or uninstall BudgetFlow.

Clearing application storage or uninstalling the Application will ordinarily remove its active local data, subject to Android’s backup and restoration behavior and any copies retained outside the Application.

Deleting data from BudgetFlow does not automatically delete previously exported reports, manually created backup files, shared documents, cloud copies, or files retained by other applications.

Users must separately identify and delete such copies where desired.

Because the developer does not maintain a central copy of users’ financial records, the developer generally cannot remotely delete, recover, or modify information stored exclusively on a user’s device.

12. Manual Backup and Restoration

BudgetFlow provides user-controlled backup and restoration functionality.

Users may create backup files containing financial records and associated application information. The Application’s backup format may include structured JSON data, financial entries, categories, accounts, preferences, and related information.

A backup file may contain highly sensitive information, including financial amounts, transaction descriptions, account labels, and application security settings.

Manual backup files are not necessarily encrypted or password-protected.

Users should therefore treat backup files as confidential financial documents.

Users are responsible for selecting appropriate storage locations, protecting access to backup files, maintaining additional copies where necessary, and avoiding accidental disclosure.

If a user saves a backup in a synchronized folder or cloud-storage location, that storage provider may receive and process the file under its own policies.

Restoring a backup may replace existing financial records or settings. Users should ensure that they have selected the correct backup and understand the consequences before proceeding.

The developer does not guarantee that every backup will remain compatible with all future application versions, operating systems, or devices.

13. Reports, Exports, and Shared Documents

BudgetFlow may generate reports and exports in formats such as PDF, CSV, or JSON.

These files may contain financial information that would otherwise remain within the Application.

When a user saves or shares a report, the resulting file is subject to the security of the selected storage location, receiving application, and any subsequent sharing arrangement.

Exported documents may be readable by persons who obtain access to them.

Users should avoid storing sensitive reports in publicly accessible folders, sending them to unintended recipients, or sharing them through untrusted services.

Deleting the original transaction from BudgetFlow does not automatically modify or delete an earlier report containing that transaction.

14. Android System Backup and Device Transfers

Android provides operating-system-level backup and device-transfer features that may operate independently of BudgetFlow’s manual backup functionality.

Depending on the device, Android version, application configuration, and the user’s settings, application data may be eligible for automatic backup, restoration, or transfer to another device.

Such services may involve Google or the device manufacturer.

BudgetFlow’s developer-operated financial-record system does not provide cloud synchronization, but this does not by itself prevent Android system backup or a user-selected cloud-storage service.

Users should review their Android backup settings and the privacy policies of the relevant platform providers.

The developer should configure Android’s backup and data-extraction rules consistently with the Application’s intended local-data privacy model.

15. Security Measures and Their Limitations

BudgetFlow provides optional security and privacy features intended to reduce unauthorized access to financial information.

These may include PIN-based application locking, supported biometric or device-credential authentication, privacy-oriented amount display settings, and protection against exposure of application content in supported Android screen-capture or task-preview scenarios when the relevant protections are enabled.

Local application storage also benefits from the security mechanisms provided by Android and the device manufacturer.

However, no software application, device, storage medium, authentication method, or security measure can guarantee absolute protection.

In particular:

  • Application locking is not the same as full database encryption.
  • A PIN may be guessed, disclosed, observed, or compromised.
  • A compromised, rooted, or otherwise insecure device may expose locally stored information.
  • Backup and export files may not benefit from the same access controls as the Application.
  • Device malware, unauthorized physical access, or insecure sharing may compromise financial records.
  • Operating-system restrictions and device-specific behavior may affect privacy features.
  • Lost, damaged, or reset devices may make financial records inaccessible.

Users should protect their devices with strong screen-lock credentials, keep their operating systems updated, avoid installing untrusted software, and secure any exported financial information.

The developer does not warrant that unauthorized access, data loss, or security incidents can never occur.

16. User Responsibility for Device Security

Users are responsible for maintaining reasonable security over the devices on which BudgetFlow is installed.

This includes preventing unauthorized device access, safeguarding PINs and credentials, using supported device-security features, maintaining appropriate backups, and exercising caution when sharing exported financial records.

Users should not assume that an unlocked device, shared device, or compromised operating system provides complete confidentiality.

Where a device is shared with another person, the user should enable available application-locking features and consider whether that device is suitable for storing sensitive financial information.

17. Children and Minors

BudgetFlow is intended as a general personal financial-management tool and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13.

Users who are below the age at which they may independently agree to these Terms under applicable law should use the Application only with appropriate parental or guardian involvement where permitted.

The Application does not require children or other users to register a developer-operated account to store financial records.

Advertising technologies may be subject to additional restrictions when an application is directed to children or when the developer knows that a user is a child.

The developer is responsible for configuring advertising and distribution settings consistently with the Application’s intended audience and applicable child-privacy requirements.

18. Third-Party Services and External Links

BudgetFlow may contain advertisements or links to third-party websites, applications, products, or services.

Such third parties operate independently and may apply different privacy policies, terms of service, and security practices.

The developer does not control the content, availability, accuracy, security, or data-processing activities of external websites or advertisers.

Users should independently review third-party policies before providing personal information, making purchases, downloading software, or entering into transactions.

The appearance of an advertisement does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee by BudgetFlow.

19. International Data Processing

Financial records maintained solely within BudgetFlow’s local application storage are not routinely transferred by the developer to an overseas financial-data server.

However, Google AdMob and other third-party services may process advertising or technical information using infrastructure located outside the user’s country.

Such processing is governed by the applicable provider’s policies, contractual arrangements, and legal obligations.

Where applicable data-protection laws require safeguards or consent for international transfers, those requirements must be observed by the relevant parties.

20. Privacy Rights and User Control

Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights relating to access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and information about personal-data processing.

For financial records stored locally in BudgetFlow, users generally exercise control directly through the Application’s record-management, export, and deletion features.

Because the developer does not ordinarily receive or maintain those records, the developer may be unable to retrieve or alter them remotely.

For information voluntarily provided through support correspondence, users may contact the developer to request information, correction, or deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations.

For advertising information processed by Google, users should consult Google’s privacy controls and available data-subject request procedures.

Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit privacy rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

21. Voluntary Support Communications

If a user contacts the developer by email or another support channel, the developer may receive the information voluntarily provided.

This may include a name, email address, device details, problem descriptions, screenshots, and attachments.

Such information may be used to respond to inquiries, investigate technical problems, maintain support correspondence, and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Users should avoid sending passwords, PINs, complete financial histories, or other sensitive information unless specifically necessary and through an appropriately secure method.

Support correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose or applicable legal obligations.

22. Data Breaches and Security Incidents

The developer will take reasonable steps to address security incidents affecting information or systems under the developer’s control, consistent with applicable law.

Because BudgetFlow’s financial records are primarily stored on users’ devices, incidents involving a lost, stolen, compromised, or damaged device may be outside the developer’s ability to detect or remedy.

Users who suspect unauthorized access should promptly secure their devices, change compromised credentials where appropriate, and review any exported or shared financial information.

Where an incident affecting developer-controlled information triggers a legal notification obligation, the developer will comply with the applicable requirements.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the Application, advertising services, legal requirements, security practices, or operational arrangements.

The updated version will identify its effective or last-updated date.

Where required by law, users will receive appropriate notice or be asked to provide any necessary additional consent.

Users are encouraged to review the Policy periodically.

Changes will not remove statutory privacy rights that apply to the user.

24. Privacy Contact

For privacy inquiries, questions about this Policy, or concerns about information actually processed by the developer, contact:

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF USE

25. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the downloading, installation, access, and use of BudgetFlow.

By using the Application, you agree to comply with these Terms and applicable laws.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should discontinue use of the Application and uninstall it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer-protection or other mandatory laws.

26. Nature and Purpose of BudgetFlow

BudgetFlow is a personal financial-recording, budgeting, and information-management application.

Its purpose is to help users organize financial entries, monitor expenditure, understand financial patterns, maintain savings and debt records, and prepare summaries and reports.

The Application is a recordkeeping and decision-support tool.

It is not a bank, deposit-taking institution, credit provider, investment platform, insurer, payment processor, accounting firm, tax adviser, or licensed financial-advisory service.

BudgetFlow does not hold user funds, provide loans, execute payments, guarantee investments, or verify financial transactions against independent institutional records.

27. Free and Advertisement-Supported Access

BudgetFlow is made available free of charge in the version described by these Terms.

The Application is supported by Google AdMob advertising.

Users acknowledge that advertisements may appear during ordinary use of the Application and that the availability and content of advertisements may vary.

An internet or mobile-data connection used to retrieve advertisements may result in charges imposed by the user’s network provider. Such charges are not imposed by BudgetFlow.

The developer may change, improve, or discontinue features in future versions, subject to applicable law and appropriate disclosure.

Any future paid functionality, if introduced, would require separate and clear disclosure of the applicable charges and conditions.

28. Limited License to Use the Application

Subject to these Terms, the developer grants users a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to install and use BudgetFlow on compatible devices for lawful personal or organizational financial-record management.

This license does not transfer ownership of the Application, its source code, design, branding, or other intellectual property.

Users may not unlawfully reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, impersonate, or misrepresent the Application as their own.

Nothing in this provision restricts rights expressly granted by applicable open-source licenses or mandatory law.

29. User Responsibilities

Users are responsible for the information they enter, the accuracy of their financial records, the security of their devices, and the decisions they make using information generated by BudgetFlow.

Users should review transaction entries, verify calculations against independent records where necessary, correct errors, maintain appropriate backups, and exercise judgment when interpreting reports.

Users must not use the Application for unlawful purposes, fraudulent financial reporting, unauthorized access to information, or activities that violate applicable law.

Users remain responsible for complying with any tax, accounting, contractual, financial-reporting, or record-retention obligations applicable to them.

30. Accuracy of Financial Information

BudgetFlow calculates financial summaries from the data entered or maintained within the Application.

The accuracy of these outputs depends on the accuracy, completeness, dates, categories, and treatment of the underlying records.

Incorrect entries, missing transactions, duplicate records, inappropriate categories, incorrect opening balances, inaccurate loan information, or incomplete historical records may result in misleading summaries.

The developer does not independently audit or certify user-entered information.

Users must independently verify important calculations before relying on them for financial, legal, accounting, taxation, borrowing, investment, or other consequential decisions.

31. Budgets, Savings, and Financial Projections

Budget limits, savings targets, expenditure trends, available balances, and similar indicators are informational tools.

They do not guarantee that the user possesses a particular amount of money, can meet future obligations, or will achieve a savings goal.

Displayed balances may differ from actual bank, cash, mobile-money, or other account balances because BudgetFlow relies on recorded information rather than independent verification of funds.

Any forecasts, averages, comparisons, or estimates should be treated as approximations dependent on the available information and calculation methods.

32. Loans and Debt Records

BudgetFlow may help users record loans, repayments, outstanding obligations, payroll check-offs, and money owed by or to the user.

Such records do not constitute confirmation of a legally enforceable debt, proof of payment, a lending agreement, or verification by a financial institution.

Actual loan balances may be affected by interest, penalties, fees, changes in repayment schedules, contractual provisions, and transactions not entered into the Application.

Users should rely on relevant agreements and official statements when determining actual financial obligations.

33. Reports and Exported Information

Reports generated by BudgetFlow are intended primarily for personal information and recordkeeping.

The developer does not certify that reports satisfy professional accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, tax-authority specifications, audit requirements, or evidentiary rules.

Users should independently review reports before submitting them to employers, lenders, tax authorities, auditors, courts, or other parties.

The user is responsible for ensuring that exported information is complete, accurate, appropriately protected, and suitable for its intended purpose.

34. Backups and Data Preservation

Users are responsible for maintaining backups appropriate to the importance of their financial records.

The Application may provide manual backup and restoration tools, but these do not guarantee recovery under every circumstance.

Data may become inaccessible or be lost because of device damage, theft, operating-system failure, accidental deletion, application removal, corrupted storage, software defects, unsuccessful restoration, or other events.

Users should verify that backup files are complete, readable, safely stored, and recoverable.

A successful backup operation should not be assumed to guarantee successful restoration on every device or future software version.

35. No Guaranteed Recovery of Lost Data

BudgetFlow does not operate a central repository containing recoverable copies of users’ financial records.

Consequently, the developer generally cannot restore records that have been deleted, corrupted, lost, or made inaccessible when no usable backup exists.

The developer also may not be able to recover forgotten authentication credentials or bypass security protections without affecting stored data.

Users accept responsibility for preserving access to their devices, security credentials, and backup files.

36. Application Availability and Compatibility

BudgetFlow is provided for compatible Android devices.

Functionality may vary depending on operating-system version, hardware capabilities, available storage, installed services, permissions, and device security settings.

The developer does not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free performance, compatibility with every device, or continued support for every Android version.

Features may be modified, suspended, discontinued, or replaced as part of maintenance, security improvements, or future development.

The developer is not obligated to provide any particular update, enhancement, or technical-support service unless required by applicable law.

37. Updates and Changes to Features

Application updates may introduce improvements, corrections, new functionality, modified interfaces, or changes to existing features.

Users are encouraged to install updates from trusted distribution channels.

Updates may affect how information is displayed, calculated, stored, exported, or restored.

Where practicable, users should maintain an appropriate backup before installing major updates or performing significant data-management operations.

The developer reserves the right to modify the Application, subject to applicable legal obligations.

38. Third-Party Advertising and External Transactions

BudgetFlow may display advertisements for products or services offered by independent third parties.

The developer does not guarantee the accuracy, legality, safety, quality, availability, or suitability of advertised products or services.

Any purchase, subscription, registration, communication, or transaction resulting from an advertisement is between the user and the relevant third party.

The developer is not a party to such transactions merely because an advertisement appears within BudgetFlow.

Users should independently investigate advertisers and review applicable third-party terms before entering into financial commitments.

39. Intellectual Property

BudgetFlow’s name, software, visual design, original text, graphics, and other proprietary elements are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws, except where third-party rights or open-source licenses apply.

All rights not expressly granted to users are reserved by their respective owners.

Users retain their rights in financial records and other content they create or enter into the Application.

The developer does not claim ownership of users’ personal financial information merely because it is stored or processed within BudgetFlow.

Third-party libraries, software components, trademarks, and advertising technologies remain subject to the rights and licenses of their respective owners.

40. Acceptable Use

Users agree not to interfere with the Application’s security or normal operation, exploit the Application for unlawful activities, introduce malicious code, unlawfully access another person’s financial information, or misuse the Application to deceive third parties.

Users must not use BudgetFlow in a manner that infringes the rights of others or violates applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms prohibits activities expressly permitted by mandatory law or applicable software licenses.

41. Suspension, Discontinuation, and Termination

Users may stop using BudgetFlow at any time and may uninstall the Application.

The developer may discontinue distribution, maintenance, or support of the Application, subject to applicable law.

If a particular version is withdrawn or becomes incompatible with a device, users may lose access to certain functions.

Users should export or preserve important records before uninstalling the Application or making changes that could affect access to stored information.

Termination of use does not automatically delete exported files or copies retained outside the Application.

42. Disclaimer of Warranties

BUDGETFLOW IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

To that extent, the developer expressly disclaims all warranties and representations, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, compatibility, security, uninterrupted operation, and non-infringement.

The developer does not warrant that the Application will be error-free, that defects will always be corrected, that all calculations will be accurate, that information will remain permanently accessible, or that the Application will meet every user’s particular needs.

No oral or written advice, communication, or information provided by the developer creates a warranty unless expressly required by applicable law.

Use of BudgetFlow is at the user’s own risk.

This disclaimer does not exclude warranties, guarantees, or statutory protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

43. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer and its authorized representatives shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or connected with the use of, inability to use, or reliance on BudgetFlow.

This includes, where legally excludable, losses arising from inaccurate financial entries or calculations, incorrect decisions based on reports, loss of profits or anticipated savings, interruption of activities, corruption or loss of records, inability to restore backups, device failures, unauthorized access, security incidents, or third-party advertising services.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it shall be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, or any other matter for which exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

44. User Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, users agree to be responsible for losses, claims, or expenses arising from their unlawful use of the Application, deliberate misuse, infringement of third-party rights, or material violation of these Terms.

This provision does not require users to indemnify the developer for the developer’s own unlawful conduct or liabilities that cannot legally be transferred to users.

45. No Professional Relationship

Use of BudgetFlow does not establish an accountant-client, financial-adviser-client, attorney-client, lender-borrower, trustee-beneficiary, or other regulated professional relationship between the user and the developer.

The Application is not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

Users remain responsible for obtaining independent professional assistance when circumstances require it.

46. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Kenya, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection or other laws that apply to the user.

Users are encouraged to contact the developer first to seek an informal resolution of concerns relating to the Application.

Where informal resolution is unsuccessful, disputes may be brought before courts or other competent bodies having jurisdiction under applicable law.

Nothing in this provision deprives consumers of rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

47. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or severed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in effect where legally permissible.

48. No Waiver

A failure or delay by the developer to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a permanent waiver of that provision or any other legal right.

49. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any legally required additional notices, constitute the applicable agreement concerning use of the Application, except where mandatory law or separately agreed written terms provide otherwise.

50. Changes to the Terms

The developer may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Application, legal requirements, security practices, or operational arrangements.

Material changes will be communicated where required by law.

Continued use after updated Terms take effect may constitute acceptance where legally permitted, but will not substitute for express consent where the law requires it.

FINANCIAL, TECHNOLOGY AND GENERAL DISCLAIMERS

51. General Financial Disclaimer

BudgetFlow is a financial-record management tool and does not provide personalized financial, investment, credit, accounting, legal, or taxation advice.

Financial summaries, charts, budget recommendations, savings indicators, debt calculations, and other outputs are provided for general informational purposes.

Users should not make significant financial commitments solely on the basis of information displayed in BudgetFlow without independently verifying the relevant information and, where appropriate, consulting a qualified professional.

The developer accepts no responsibility for financial decisions made by users in reliance on inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or misunderstood information, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded.

52. No Banking or Payment Services

BudgetFlow does not operate a bank account, mobile-money wallet, payment gateway, or other financial custody service.

Recording an income transaction does not mean that money has actually been received.

Recording an expense or loan repayment does not mean that a payment has actually been made.

Recording savings does not mean that funds have been deposited in a financial institution or otherwise protected.

The Application does not guarantee that a user’s recorded balance corresponds to actual available funds.

Users must independently verify all actual financial transactions with their relevant financial institutions or counterparties.

53. No Guarantee of Financial Outcomes

BudgetFlow does not guarantee that users will save money, reduce debt, improve creditworthiness, increase income, avoid financial difficulties, or achieve any other financial outcome.

Financial outcomes depend on circumstances beyond the Application’s control, including income, expenses, market conditions, contractual obligations, financial decisions, and user behavior.

54. Calculation and Reporting Disclaimer

Financial calculations may involve assumptions, categorization rules, reporting periods, rounding, user-defined preferences, and other computational processes.

Different accounting or financial-management methods may produce different results.

The developer does not guarantee that BudgetFlow’s calculations conform to every accounting standard, tax rule, loan agreement, or institutional reporting requirement.

Users should independently reconcile important balances and review calculations before relying on them.

55. Data Security Disclaimer

Although BudgetFlow provides privacy and security features, the developer does not guarantee that the Application, stored data, exported files, or user devices will be immune from unauthorized access, loss, corruption, disclosure, or compromise.

Users are responsible for enabling available security features and protecting their devices and backups.

The developer makes no representation that an application PIN alone provides full encryption or complete protection against a compromised device.

56. Data Loss and Backup Disclaimer

The developer does not guarantee the permanent preservation, availability, or recoverability of financial records.

Users are responsible for maintaining backups and ensuring that those backups can be restored.

The developer is not responsible for loss of information arising from accidental deletion, device damage, storage corruption, operating-system changes, failed restoration, or other causes, except to the extent that applicable law prohibits such an exclusion.

57. Advertisement Disclaimer

Advertisements displayed within BudgetFlow are supplied through third-party advertising systems.

The developer does not independently verify every advertised claim and does not guarantee the quality, reliability, legality, or suitability of advertised goods or services.

Users should exercise independent judgment before responding to advertisements.

The inclusion of an advertisement does not establish a partnership, recommendation, endorsement, or professional relationship between BudgetFlow and the advertiser.

58. Technical Performance Disclaimer

BudgetFlow may be affected by software defects, device limitations, operating-system behavior, storage constraints, connectivity conditions, or third-party service interruptions.

The developer does not guarantee uninterrupted operation or compatibility with every hardware or software configuration.

Users should report reproducible problems through the designated support channel where available.

59. No Obligation to Provide Support or Updates

BudgetFlow is offered as a free application.

Unless required by applicable law, the developer does not undertake to provide continuous technical support, individualized financial assistance, guaranteed response times, uninterrupted development, or perpetual software updates.

Any support provided is offered on a reasonable-efforts basis and does not create an additional warranty.

60. Mandatory Legal Rights

All disclaimers, exclusions, limitations, and conditions in this document apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in this document is intended to exclude or restrict statutory rights, mandatory consumer protections, privacy rights, or legal remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.

USER PRIVACY AND SECURITY GUIDANCE

61. Protecting Your Financial Information

BudgetFlow encourages users to take reasonable precautions when recording and managing financial information.

Users should enable App Lock where available, choose a PIN that is difficult for others to guess, secure their Android devices, avoid sharing authentication credentials, and keep devices updated.

Users should also protect backups and reports, review notification privacy settings, and avoid leaving sensitive financial information accessible on shared devices.

These precautions reduce risk but cannot guarantee complete protection.

62. Understanding App Lock

BudgetFlow provides optional application-locking functionality.

When enabled and functioning as intended, App Lock restricts access to financial records until the user completes the required authentication.

Depending on the device and implementation, authentication may be performed using a PIN, supported biometric method, or permitted device credential.

App Lock is an access-control feature. It does not necessarily encrypt the underlying financial database, prevent all device-level access, or protect copies exported outside the Application.

Users should therefore combine App Lock with Android device security and responsible handling of backup files.

63. Protecting Backup Files

Backup files may contain a substantial amount of financial information.

Users should avoid sending backups through insecure channels, storing them in publicly accessible folders, or sharing them with persons who do not require access.

Because backup files may not be encrypted, anyone who obtains a readable copy may be able to inspect the information it contains.

Users should delete obsolete backups when they are no longer required and maintain appropriate copies of important records.

64. Deleting the Application

Users may uninstall BudgetFlow at any time.

Uninstalling generally removes the active application and its associated local data from the device, subject to Android’s backup and restoration mechanisms.

Previously exported reports, manually saved backup files, and copies stored by other applications or services are not necessarily removed by uninstalling BudgetFlow.

Users who wish to eliminate all copies of their information should separately review their device storage, backups, cloud-storage accounts, and shared files.

65. User Acknowledgment

By using BudgetFlow, the user acknowledges that:

  1. The Application is a free, advertisement-supported financial-record management tool.
  2. Financial records are primarily stored and processed locally on the user’s device.
  3. Google AdMob may independently process technical and advertising information.
  4. The user is responsible for the accuracy of information entered into the Application.
  5. The user is responsible for protecting their device, authentication credentials, exports, and backups.
  6. BudgetFlow does not hold, transfer, invest, or guarantee actual financial funds.
  7. Financial summaries and reports are informational and should be independently verified where necessary.
  8. The Application is provided AS IS, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  9. The developer does not guarantee the prevention of data loss, unauthorized access, software errors, or financial losses.
  10. Applicable mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
